  • The brief for this website was to keep it extremely simple. The head of promotions for this subsidiary didn't even want a simple "contact us" form.
  • This was an adaptation of an existing design. My main tasks were to simplify the Information Architecture (though I didn't know that's what I was doing at the time!) and refine the graphic design of the site.
  • This site was constructed while I was still largely a self-taught web designer. Though I had studied the first year of my degree, the course at this time had little awareness of the change that was coming in terms of standards compliancy and separation of style from content. This is all by way of excusing and explaining the use of tables for layout, the presence of the dreaded <font> tag and use of image maps!

  • This was a slightly more advanced website than was created for Albury Asset rentals.
  • The brief for this project allowed for incorporating more advanced features including JavaScript roll-overs, CSS formatting and a Perl/CGI-powered quote form.
  • Though tables were still used for structuring the overall visual framework, I had started to use CSS formatting to control the site's typography and image borders.
  • It was while working on this project that I started becoming aware of the need for clean HTML (no <font> tags!) and separating page content from presentation.
